How to use Image Compressor

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device.
  2. Set the quality slider. Start at 80% and reduce it if you need a smaller file.
  3. Select Process Image. Images larger than 1920 pixels on their longest side are scaled down proportionally.
  4. Compare the original and output file sizes, then download your WebP image.

Smaller images. Faster experiences.

Use this image compressor to prepare photographs for websites, product pages, newsletters and everyday sharing. It exports WebP and limits the longest edge to 1920 pixels while keeping the original aspect ratio. Actual savings depend on the original image, its format and your chosen quality.

Compression is lossy. Keep your original file and inspect small text, fine textures and gradients before publishing. An already optimized file may not become smaller.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

A little more clarity.

Will this preserve the original quality?

Lossy compression changes pixels. A moderate quality setting can keep the image looking similar while reducing its size, but lossless output and a specific size reduction are not guaranteed.

Which format will I download?

This compressor exports a WebP image. To export PNG or JPEG instead, use the Image Converter.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The browser decodes and compresses the selected image on your device; OurJS does not receive it.
